Started in a college apartment. And long before that.

Ukes began at UCLA out of a specific frustration: the sunglass strap industry was one or two big players making the same straps for decades, and nothing we'd actually want to wear around campus, or on a weekend surf run to Malibu.

So we made our own. That part of the story is short.

The longer part starts in San Diego, the backdrop of both our childhoods. Parents dropping us at the beach after sunrise and picking us up at dusk. Summers on the boat. Powder days at Mammoth. The kind of growing up where being outside wasn't an activity, it was the default.

We just never stopped.
